AJC Central Europe Meets prominent U.S. Officials in Warsaw and Budapest

AJC is always pleased to meet with U.S. officials when they visit Central Europe. Dr. Sebastian Rejak was invited to attend a meeting organized by the U.S. Embassy in Warsaw with Ambassador Stuart Eizenstat, State Secretary’s Special Advisor on Holocaust Issues. Dr. Rejak and a group of other leaders of Jewish organizations briefed Ambassador Eizenstadt on the current shape of Polish-Jewish relations, antisemitism in Poland, and the still not fully solved questions of property restitution.
AJC Representative in Hungary Barnabas Turai was invited to meet with Ellen Germain, U.S. Special Envoy for Holocaust Issues to discuss the state of antisemitism and Holocaust education in Hungary . Mr. Turai informed Special Envoy Germain about the most important priorities of the Jewish community in Hungary.
