As the first Jewish organization in the world to support the restoration of Ukrainian independence in 1991, American Jewish Committee (AJC), a partner organization of the Jewish Confederation of Ukraine, stands in full solidarity with the Ukrainian people and remains committed to Ukraine’s full sovereignty and territorial integrity. AJC Central Europe has been active in helping refugees on the ground in Poland, including on the border with Ukraine.
This is a pivotal moment, not just for Ukrainians, but for all who value human rights and democratic values. AJC CEO David Harris led our team on a humanitarian and solidarity mission to the Poland-Ukraine border earlier this month, bringing aid to those in need. AJC CE Director Dr. Sebastian Rejak spoke to CNN, to share our experience as we are witnessing millions of Ukrainians flee Russian aggression. The citizens of neighboring nations like Poland, which has welcomed more than 2 million Ukrainians in recent weeks, have opened their doors and hearts to these refugees. And friends of Ukraine in Europe and beyond have stepped up in incredible ways.
American Jewish Committee members and supporters have already given over $2 million to our #StandWithUkraine fund. It’s not too late to support Ukraine. Make your gift today to AJC’s emergency fund to provide humanitarian relief to Ukrainian refugees, assist Ukrainian Jews who wish to make Aliyah to Israel, and support and protect Ukrainian Jews who have chosen to stay in Ukraine, particularly the elderly. 100% of your donation will go to this vital, on-the-ground work in support of the people of Ukraine.
AJC’s #StandWithUkraine fund is providing support to trusted partners that are doing critical, lifesaving work including:
- The Jewish Agency for Israel (JAFI), AJC’s partner in bringing over 100 Ukrainian Jewish refugees to Israel on March 17
- IsraAID, the Israeli humanitarian aid organization, which is working to assist Ukrainians at Moldovan and Romanian border crossings with trauma counseling and medical supplies
- The organized Jewish communities of Ukraine and Moldova, as well as the community in Warsaw, all of which are working round-the-clock to help evacuate and aid those in need
- Local Polish NGOs like the Polish Center for International Aid and the Ukrainian House in Warsaw, which are helping to manage the enormous influx of refugees
Join AJC and thousands across the U.S. and around the world in supporting the people of Ukraine by contributing to the #StandWithUkraine fund today.
