Polish-Israeli Agreement: A Step to Fix the Relationship
On March 22, 2023, Israel and Poland signed an important agreement to resume Israeli youth delegations to Poland. Rather than criticize a document that some may see as less than perfect, the agreement has to be welcomed as a sign of renewed cooperation between the two governments. AJC Central Europe Director, Dr. Sebastian Rejak, was interviewed by TVP World.

“I do not understand why this agreement would be seen as controversial. It may not be an ideal, it may not be a perfect agreement but it’s definitely a step in the right direction. It made for the resumption of Israeli youth trips to Poland,” Rejak said. He also underscored that, in line with the new provisions, Israeli youth groups coming to Poland will enjoy full protection provided by professional security guards and the police but the groups will not be “visibly separated from the Polish society and their Polish friends.”
